Business promotion can and should be a constantly moving obstacle. What works one month may not the next as well as what catches the eye of one person may not another.
So how should you promote your business?
Get the Word Out
You have to be conscious, aware, and deliberate in how you get the word out about your business.
Promote Your Business and Talk it up Whenever You Communicate
Get business cards and hand them out regularly. Have your business name, logo, and all your contact information on them. Documents sent out should have your letterhead with all the company information. Every email should have a complete signature with all your company information.
Have Your Own Website
A professional and well-organized website can make or break a business. Have your website show your target audience/customer who you are, what you do, and how you do it.
Promote Your Business by Blogging
Well-written articles provide free advertising and helps build word of mouth. Share each blog post on social media including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest.
Create Instructional Videos
Showing your expertise in your industry will help bring value to your target audience. Sixty-five percent of people are visual learners. Giving them visuals to learn, understand, and grow will create better engagement, sharing your video, and receiving greater visability.
Social Media
Create business social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Pinterest. Be consistent posting to each one but focus on building one at a time. Do your research and find out where your target audience is. If that means your target audience uses Facebook more than focus on Facebook first. Build a following, create ads, do lives, etc.
Network in Facebook and LinkedIn Groups
Both social media networks, Facebook and LinkedIn, have groups that you can join. Search groups that both fit your niche and target audience. Join into conversations, answer questions, provide help when solicited and able.
Ask for Referrals
When you have past clients or customers it is great to ask for referrals and reviews. Word of mouth can be a great asset to your business. The more positive reviews on your website and social media the better.
Referral is the most cost-effective marketing tactic you can utilize in your business. There are many things you can do to make sure converts to leads for your business.
- Ask only happy and satisfied customers for referrals.
- Provide an incentive to both the referral and the person referring you if their lead converts.
- Make it a regular habit to ask for referrals
